Today began with concern for Jesse’s health – he had symptoms consistent with malaria. We had trouble locating a medical clinic, as the local people seemed oblivious to the existence of a clinic or a doctor. Eventually a clinic was located and we were thankful to the Lord that the lab confirmed that Jesse did not have malaria. Rather, his cough was diagnosed as a respiratory tract infection and the chills and general feelings of fatigue and illness were attributed to a severe case of sun-stroke. By early afternoon he was feeling significantly better.
In the morning the team distributed tracts and shared the Gospel with a number of people. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch in a restaurant near the Elmina Castle, and then continued to distribute tracts and share the Gospel into the early afternoon. One person of note was a young man who makes a living from tourists in the vicinity of Elmina Castle. He showed interest in the Gospel, and was given a Bible by the team.
The weather was extremely hot, so by mid-afternoon the team returned to our base. Most rested in the late afternoon and early evening before preparing for the return journey to Kumasi tomorrow.
Please pray:
1. That the Lord would enable the seed sown to germinate and produce a harvest of souls in the fields which are white unto harvest;
2. That Jesse would fully recover from his illness;
3. That the return journey to Kumasi on Saturday would be safe and uneventful, and that there will be significant opportunities to distribute the Word of God and witness during the journey, and finally;
5. For the Ghanaians who remained in Kumasi and continued evangelistic outreach there while the Canadians travelled to the coast.
Thank you again for your faithfulness in remembering the team in prayer, but most importantly for approaching the Throne to ask that the distribution of the Word of God will not return void, and for asking that the spoken Gospel witness to numerous people will be greatly used of the Lord to the salvation of souls.
Thank you for following along, and for your continued support in prayer. You can find daily updates, pictures and video from the outreach in Ghana at the eTeam’s Facebook page.
