We are in our second week of our mission program, and finding endless opportunities to share the gospel with the people of Ghana, particularly with school children. Today began by visiting Reach High school, where we were met by around 100 Junior High students. We went through our gospel program with Michael using the paint board to preach a short gospel message. While most of the team preached to these students, Jewel and Philemon went next door to a class of young primary students, who enthusiastically received them as they preached a simple gospel message using the rope trick.
We then returned home to have a short team devotional time, where we considered the importance of accepting and rejoicing in our lowly estate in this world, because of our high position in Christ. After an early lunch the team embarked on an afternoon of village/street evangelism. We first stopped at a nearby school, where many students were milling about after finishing morning exams. Much of the team were able to meet with a variety of students, sometimes with larger groups forming to hear a presentation of the gospel.
We then drove to the small town of Aduman, near Kenyasi, to distribute tracts and share the gospel through conversations as we divided into our groups and spread around the small town. We had numerous good contacts, and encouraged some to start working on Emmaus courses. After a couple of hours moving around in the hot weather the team headed back home to enjoy a nice pasta dinner, followed by an encouraging time sharing our experiences of the day, and joining our hearts together in prayer.
Prayer items for today:
1. Wednesday is a very long and busy day of activities, so we value prayer for strength.
2. Some have been feeling tired or worn down from the weather or workload (Tim, Jennifer, Richard, Mercer).
3. An encouraging and good finish to our evangelism work on behalf of the Believers Bible Assembly here in Kumasi.
4. A safe journey to Cape Coast for the team, as they plan a two day trip to enjoy Ghana’s beautiful coast beginning Thursday.
Thank you for following along, and for your continued support in prayer. You can find daily updates, pictures and video from the outreach in Ghana at the eTeam’s Facebook page.
