Today was a packed day! Even with a tight schedule, the team still had an excellent opportunity to share a clear gospel message to many individuals.
This morning we arrived to an enthusiastic bunch of students at Regal International School. We were given plenty of time to share different demonstrations pointing to Christ. This included puppets, the cross illustration and a clear gospel message, to name a few.
Immediately following the presentation we quickly made our way to a small school tucked away called New Chapter. Roughly 35 students attend here, which gave the team a unique experience to share the gospel in an intimate way. We were able to show the need for salvation in such a way that the little ones could understand. After the program, we shared rubber bracelets with Ephesians 2:8-9 on them as well as a small, felt, colored books illustrating the gospel. The kids were thrilled to get these little tokens.
We pray that the kids in both schools we ministered to today will come to realize the salvation God has offered them, and trust in the Lord Jesus as their Savior.
This afternoon after lunch the team embarked on travelling to the Cultural Centre to pass out tracts and do a bit of souvenir shopping. The team split into two groups. Those going to share tracts at the local hospital, and those going to share at Central Market. However the gospel quickly became the main focus of the team as most of the team didn’t make it farther than 200 feet away from the van. The high interest level of the Ghanaian people, and their reception to the gospel, drew us into many good conversations. Those that made it to the hospital were able to distribute many tracts, and those going to the market were flooded with open hands taking the tracts. A few thousand tracts went forth today and we pray that people would be saved through this mass distribution of gospel literature.
Our fourth and final movie night was held tonight, with a large crowd gathered to finish watching the ‘Gospel of John’ movie. The gospel was preached by Brother Emmanuel. Quite a few people stayed in the distance listening to what he had to say. This last week of movies has been a great occasion to share the Good News, and we pray that souls would be reached.
We are asking for specific prayer at this time, as a dear member of the team, Mr. Richard, has contracted malaria and typhoid. Both of these sicknesses can be very severe. However God is good and Mr. Richard is under good care from a local hospital a few minutes down the road from where we are staying. Richards body is physically exhausted from fighting these ailments, but his spirit is an example to the rest of the team as he is fully trusting God plans. 1 Corinthians 12:26 says: “If one member of the body suffers, all suffer.” The team definitely feels the weight of his absence. We ask that you pray specifically for his healing, that he would be able to rejoin the team at the earliest possible time.
We also ask that you keep these requests in your prayers:
1. Continued health for the rest of the team, that they would sleep well and be able to carry out our various activities of the day.
2. Souls saved by the mass distribution of gospel literature.
3. Continued unity that the team enjoys
4. More opportunities to share the gospel as God leads us.
Thank you for following along, and for your continued support in prayer. You can find daily updates, pictures and video from the outreach in Ghana at the eTeam’s Facebook page.
