18-Day Mission: May 30th – June 16th, 2024
eTeams Moldova is a short-term mission opportunity to witness and work for the Lord in the former Soviet-state and poorest country in Europe, Moldova. It is a cross-cultural mission opportunity that does not require learning another language. After cross-cultural orientation and training, the team will work alongside the Christian humanitarian aid organization CMIAID in Zirnesti, just north of the city of Cahul. CMIAID runs 8-weeks of children and teen day-camps through July-August. eTeams has been invited to run two weeks of residential English-immersion camps in June for Moldovan students in grades 11-12.
eTeam Moldova members will only need English as they witness to and work with these students. The opportunity to attend the camp is based upon students competency in their high school English-classes. This immersion experience, along with it being led by native English speakers, is a huge advantage to Moldovan youth.
The Purpose
Glorifying God through enabling & equipping Christians to effectively work in a cross-cultural environment, encourage the church, and evangelize. Our goal is to bring glory to God, and we believe this will happen through the following:
Team members grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ by:
1) Trusting in the Lord to provide for all their needs.
2) Discipleship and daily team Bible studies.
3) Living and working closely with other team members and national local believers.
Team members will be used of the Lord to help build up the local assembly by:
1) Fellowship with believers, encouraging them in their own walk and witness.
2) Participating with the host assembly in its’ various teaching and evangelism ministries.
3) Sharing the Gospel with Moldovian youth to see them saved, baptized, added to the assembly.
Team members become more effective in their witness for Christ by:
1) Being taught the message of the Gospel.
2) Being trained in evangelism.
3) Gaining experience through participation in evangelism.
These Short-Term Missions aim at producing Long Term Results for the work and witness in Ghana, while also encouraging spiritual growth in personal character and ministry for service in local churches back home.
The Program
Cross-Cultural Missions Orientation and Training
Team members arrive in Bucharest, Romania on Thursday, May 30th. This means eTeam members from North America will depart on May 29th. The team will then spend the next four days team building, cross-cultural mission orientation, and training on how we will use TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) in evangelism during the English-immersion camps. The TEFL program has been developed and will be led by TEFL professionals Ray & Kelly Marshall from Kitchener, ON. The team will also fellowship with the Zirnesti (pronounced Zirnesht) Christian Assembly on Sundays
Evangelism and Discipleship
Following this preparation time, the first 5-day residential English-immersion camp will run from Monday, June 3rd to Friday, June 7th. The second will run from June 10th-14th. Sundays will be spent involved with the host assembly meetings and ministries. The team will start each day with personal quiet time, a team study & prayer time, followed by our daily camp program. The main methods of evangelism will include personal and TEFL. CMIAID have many humanitarian ministries that will continue to run currently with the camps. Team members may have an opportunity to be exposed to these ministries and possibly help for the sake of their growth and experience.
Team Touring & Sight-Seeing
The team will have opportunities to do some sight-seeing while in Romania and Moldova. The cost of this is included in your team-member cost.
How Much Will It Cost?
Each team member is responsible for raising sufficient funds to cover their share of the team costs. This amount will cover all aspects of the team program including the orientation & training, accommodation, food, team transportation, sight-seeing, ministry and gospel materials. Sometimes after all other expenses have been paid, there may remain some balance in the mission team account. These funds are generally used to support the mission team administration expenses, and/or gifts to help the local mission workers or ministries.
Team Cost: 1200 CAD or 900 USD for 18-day program
The cost per person does not include travel costs to and from Bucharest, Romania and other personal expenses such as: health insurance, any personal sightseeing, souvenirs, gifts, personal items i.e. toiletries, clothes, stationary and postage, etc.
NOTE: MSC Canada and CMML in the USA can send you and your supporters tax-deductible receipts for your/their donations toward the eTeam Moldova cost including your overseas flights. Once your application is approved we will send explicit instructions so you and your supporters can receive tax-deductible receipts. Please do not purchase your flights before receiving this approval and information.

eTeams will also help you with advice and the booking of your flights
Is This for Me?
It is if you are 18 or older (even much older); in good health and able to keep up to the strenuous program of discipleship and evangelism; able to live at close quarters with others and esteem others better than yourself; willing to take the place of a servant and a learner and accept leadership; someone whom your elders will recommend for this short-term missionary work. (Please note: If you are younger than 18 and still interested in joining the team, we will consider your circumstances provided we have parental agreement and the recommendation of your church leaders.)
It is if you want to experience God working in and through your life. You will be exposed to a mission field that qualifies in every sense of the word, yet one where you can communicate the Gospel in your own language. You can be useful and effective even in the short-term.
It is if you want to work in fellowship with other Christians from around the world and to enjoy the experience of trusting God together; to experience the encouragement and support of a team; to have friendships develop that will last for eternity.
It is if you are willing to respond to Christ’s call to go into all the world with the Gospel and to give up those things necessary to share His love and salvation with the Moldovan people.
What Now?
After prayerfully reading and considering this information, if you believe the Lord would have you get involved with eTeams Moldova, share this vision with your local church leadership.
Acts 13:1-4 provides us with a pattern for sending out mission workers. We see in this passage of scripture how the Holy Spirit identifies individuals for mission work, so that the church understood and willingly commended them to the work. After prayer and consultation, It will be important to have confirmation of the local church through its’ leadership. If this leading in your life is of the Lord, you can trust your church and its’ leadership to respond in obedience to the Holy Spirit. It is never wise to presume a call without confirmation from our church leadership. It is important to also recognize God’s timing, for while He may call, He might also ask us to wait for the right time.
