“But on this one I will look; on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word.” Isaiah 66:2
Our team split up this morning to cover two different schools. Daniel took one team to Duase JHS, and Emma Senior took the rest to Crown Prince. Both teams were gladly welcomed to each school and both Daniel and Emma Sr. gave clear gospel messages to several hundred attentive children. It is difficult to convey the atmosphere at these schools, as the team looks out on hundreds of children, eagerly listening to the message of salvation through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a truly incredible sight to see.
The afternoon plan was to do some street evangelism in the Brofroyedru area, with the team breaking up into our smaller groups to cover as much of the region as possible. But when we parked at the Brofroyedru Primary JHS school, we were given permission to address the children in their classrooms for the last twenty minutes of the school day. We split into our groups, each group giving the gospel to a different classroom. It was a challenging and strengthening experience for us all, as we were not prepared especially for these extra presentations and had to rely even more on the Holy Spirit to guide our words and challenge the children to take the call of God to repent and trust in His Son seriously. After the presentations, the team was enthusiastically swarmed with school children asking for tracts and gospel wristbands. We gave them out happily, challenging the children to recite a Bible verse to receive a tract. It was amazing how readily and clearly these children can recite many verses from both the Old and the New Testaments. Ghanaians are taught from an early age to respect the Word of God; but their eyes have been blinded to the fact that salvation is a gift, and cannot be earned. Please pray with us that these children will see the truth, and trust Christ in faith for the saving of their souls.
Our day ended with a wonderful meal at the home of Joseph and Heather, and a meeting at the Adumasa Believer’s Bible Assembly. Sean spoke to the saints about our inability to do anything for eternity by our flesh. He encouraged us all instead to depend on the sufficiency of Christ and the work of His Holy Spirit.
Finally, please pray with us for health and stamina. Several of our team members have begun to feel the effects of the busy schedule and the heat. So far each of them has recovered quickly and are still eager to work hard in each of the planned events. Tomorrow we will have an opportunity to rest a little more in the morning and we are praying that this period of rest will provide the refreshment that is needed to continue to work and enjoy the time God has given us here.
Thank you to all who have been praying for and supporting this effort. Click here to go to our Facebook page for more updates, pictures and videos.
